The Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira will carry out, this Tuesday (02/28), a technical visit to the structures of the Itaipu Binacional Hydroelectric Power Plant, located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay. It will be the first visit by Alexandre Silveira as Minister of Mines and Energy to one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world, a global leader in the generation of clean and renewable energy.

The technical visit is scheduled for 10:15 am and should last about 40 minutes (press monitoring will not be allowed). The itinerary foresees passage in the Cathedrals, Cota 40, Dispatch Room, Control Room, Gallery of Generators and Turbine Axis. Then, at 11:30 am, there will be a ceremony alluding to the discharge of debt for the construction of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant, on the Paraná River. The event will take place in the hall of the Production Building of the Itaipu plant (at Cota 145) and will be open to the press.
