MODEC’s fleet continues to stand out in the Brazilian offshore production scene. According to the April 2025 edition of the Dynamic Oil and Natural Gas Production Panel released by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), the FPSO Guanabara MV31, FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32, and FPSO Carioca MV30 rank among the country’s top ten oil and gas producers, occupying first, sixth, and seventh places nationally, respectively. Together, these three account for approximately 15% of Brazil’s total oil equivalent production.

Furthermore, the FPSO Guanabara MV31 was once again highlighted as the largest national producer, with an average production of 184,000 barrels of oil and 12.09 million cubic meters of gas per day, underscoring its strategic importance for the development of the pre-salt region and the country’s energy matrix. Operating in the Mero field in the Santos Basin, the FPSO Guanabara MV31 has achieved impressive milestones among the largest producers since it began operations in April 2022. The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32, operating since May 2023 in the Búzios field, has also shown robust performance, reaching a production peak of 150,000 barrels per day in less than five months of operation.

According to Petrobras, the Búzios field is expected to soon surpass Tupi, which remains the country’s largest producing field to date.

“It is a great pride for MODEC to contribute directly, alongside our client, to the production of Brazil’s largest fields. Every milestone reached by our fleet reflects the dedicated work of professionals committed to delivering operational excellence with safety,” says Rodrigo Rocha, Business Development Manager at MODEC Brazil.
