The source of micro and mini power generation in Brazil is hotter than ever. Data from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) reveal that the country already has more than 14 GW of installed power, with Minas Gerais and São Paulo being the leading states of this type of production in Brazil.

According to the Minas Gerais Economic Development Secretariat (SDE), the state alone has 2.22MW of installed power currently, as well as already having an amount of 50 billion reais in photovoltaic solar energy projects formalized according to Invest Minas. Of these, 1.4 Bi are already in the implementation phase and 20.5 Bi have already started their operations.

For Renato Ferraz Garcia de Andrade, business manager at Invest Minas, the solar energy sector is doing very well in the Southeast region and especially Minas Gerais, as it is the leading state in this type of generation. São Paulo and Rio Janeiro also appear among the 10 with the most installed power.

Andrade explains that one of the reasons why Minas is standing out in this type of energy generation is the fact that it has a metallurgical, steel and electronics vocation, since they have a robust industrial park with the capacity to develop technologies, machines and equipment that drive the solar energy sector.

Another point commented by the specialist concerns the technical-scientific structure of the state. According to Andrade, Minas Gerais currently has the largest number of public universities and SENAI units in Brazil, having a qualified workforce already accustomed to the solar energy sector and a portfolio of promising scientific research in the field of environmental and social sustainability, through and for with the solar energy sector.

Mariana Gabriela de Oliveira, Energy Director at SDE, also commented on the matter about investments in the Southeast region. She highlights that Minas was the state with the highest number of investments according to Greener in 2021 and in early 2022 São Paulo also stood out, which shows the region's leading role in this type of energy generation.

"For the first half of 2022, São Paulo came out ahead with 2.2 billion prospected, but Minas is right after with 2.1 billion prospected investments for the sector, which shows that the Southeast is very protagonist in this issue as well", he says. Oliveira.

CBGD 2022 will be an injection of opportunities for those who participate

And it is in the midst of this growth scenario that the Brazilian Congress of Distributed Generation (CBGD 2022) will take place in November. The event, characterized as the largest in the sector in Latin America, will receive in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, between the 9th and 10th of November, important experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges that the sector has been facing.

In Andrade's view, CBGD and EXPOGD are important events to motivate the sector, as they renew technical knowledge, as well as contribute to the generation of business.

"Congresses and business meetings such as CBGD and EXPOGD are, above all, a social motivation to reaffirm our strength as a sector, as a cluster of companies, integrators, epcists, maintenance professionals and engineers. The renewal of technical knowledge that will be given in the lectures and also through the dialogues that will take place in the intervals and at the fair, are essential to strengthen corporate, institutional and professional ties between the agents of the Minas Gerais market, in the Southeast and in Brazil. congress and the fair tend to contribute to the generation of business within the scope of the event, which will be an injection of opportunities for those who participate", he says.

Oliveira also believes that the CBGD will be a favorable environment for many opportunities and for her the expectations are the best.

"The distributed generation congress is very important. I think Minas Gerais feels very proud and privileged to host this event. I think we have a very effervescent and very important theme there", he explains.

130 Brands will be on display at EXPOGD

Organized by Grupo FRG Mídias & Eventos and promoted by the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD), CBGD has everything to be the biggest event of Distributed Generation in recent times.

Tiago Fraga, CEO of Grupo FRG highlights that there will be two pavilions filled with lectures and exhibitions at the EXPOGD Fair, which will bring together more than 130 brands and with more than 70% of GD's market share in the country.

"The 2022 CBGD will be the biggest ever held, after having passed through cities such as Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Curitiba. The event is now in a new house, in the city of Belo Horizonte, at Expominas, there will be two pavilions with approximately 130 brands that will be exhibiting, we believe that more than 70% of the market share of the photovoltaic Distributed generation will be present at the event and the expectation of business movement is the best possible. billion reais in sales, creation and business generation, mainly aimed at 2023. The event will also be highlighted in terms of visitors, we expect approximately 10 thousand people in the two days of the event, so the opportunity will be for those who integrate, distribute or manufacture", ends Fraga.
