OTC 2016
The Offshore Technology Conference 2016 in Houston gave the offshore industry a much-needed boost to its confidence.
RigzoneDespite attendance not reaching its previous peaks, exhibitors at the event were optimistic about the future of the industry. Several companies were proud to show the work they’ve put in during to innovate during the downturn, and they outlined how they expect the upstream sector to improve significantly by the second half of next year. The steady rise of oil prices over the last few weeks, which has seen the price of Brent crude climb from $27 per barrel in 2015 to highs of close to $50 per barrel recently, seems to support this prediction, which would likely see a considerable increase in employment opportunities in oil and gas.
OTC 2016 has wrapped up for this year, with the next event scheduled to be held in the same NRG Park venue from 1-4 May in 2017. Early-birds can register for the event now.
