Petrobras signed, today, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A. (Galp), aiming to extend the cooperation between the two companies, reinforcing their strategic alliance.

Following this MoU, Petrobras and Galp intend to further enhance their partnership, considering potential joint ventures in exploration, production and infrastructure of oil and gas in areas of common interest worldwide. This agreement extends also to programs for technical education and research with focus on carbonate reservoirs in deepwater.

Petrobras and Galp have built a solid relationship over more than 15 years. The two companies are partners in several upstream assets in Brazil, having worked closely in some of the most important discoveries in the last decade, namely in the Lula field, a world class project and the biggest development in the pre-salt area of Santos basin.
