Petrobras was honored yesterday (20/6), at the opening of Brazil Offshore, in Macaé (RJ), for the 40 years of production in the Campos Basin. Representing the company at the ceremony, general manager Marcelo Batalha (photo) defended the strategic importance of the Campos Basin to Petrobras and commented on some plans for the continued development of production in the region. "We will start production in the fields of Tartaruga Verde and Tartaruga Mestiça in the coming months and we will also implement actions to complete the activities of the Forno reservoir discovery analysis plan, located in the pre-salt of the Albacora concession," he said.

Batalha also mentioned the recent acquisition, together with the ANP, of the extension of the concession contract for the Marlin and Voador fields until 2052. "This opens Petrobras the opportunity of new investments in this important offshore production area. Partnership of suppliers, labor force and public power, which was fundamental to get here, "he said.

In the Campos Basin, Petrobras has 53 platforms. From Macaé the company carries out the remote monitoring of the flow, pressure and temperature and other conditions of gas and oil flow. "We also have all the planning, programming and control activities of underwater operations and specialized vessels. To support operations, we have the Imbetiba Port, with six cots in operation, four berths contracted at Açu Port, in São João da Barra, with no interruption of operations at the Port of Imbetiba. Already at Macaé airport, we have a movement of about 12 thousand people, with 700 monthly flights to support offshore operations, "explained Batalha.

The Cabiúnas Gas Treatment Unit is currently the country's largest gas processing center and entry point on the mainland for the Campos Basin gas and part of the Santos Basin gas.

Conference

The opening ceremony of the Conference was also attended by the Mayor of Macaé, Aluízio Júnior, the Deputy Secretary of Oil, Gas and Biofuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, João José de Nora Souto, and representatives of the organizers of the event: IBP (Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, Gas, Biofuels), SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) and Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado.

The expectation is that by June 23, about 53,000 people will be in Macaé's Convention Center booths and conferences, according to Paulo Octavio de Almeida, vice president of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado.

Petrobras will participate with experts in plenary and technical sessions. The lectures will address topics such as recovery factors in mature and deepwater fields, reservoir R&D projects and opportunities for the Campos Basin.
