The PGS M/V Ramform Titan has completed a 3D seismic survey over Falkland Oil & Gas’ (FOGL) northern area licenses offshore the Falkland Islands. The Noble Energy-operated survey focused on the Cretaceous Hersilia Fan complex. The vessel acquired 5,747 sq km (2,219 sq mi) of full fold seismic data. FOGL says the program was targeting numerous prospects and leads including Hersilia, West Hersilia, and Challenger.
PGS will process the data and initial results should be available for interpretation in around three months, with final processed data to be issued this summer. The information will be used to start prospect mapping and selection of well locations. Drilling is expected to start early next year.
PGS has now completed three 3D surveys for the joint venture acquired 12,000 sq km of data.
