The president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, received, this Thursday (16/02), the president of the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), Roberto Ardenghy, the president of Karoon Energy Brasil, Antônio Guimarães, the director of IBP Exploration & Production, Júlio Moreira, and IBP's Executive Legal Manager, Matias Lopes. At the meeting, which took place at the company's building in Brasília, Prates was invited to participate in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2023.
 
Prates thanked the invitation to participate in the event and highlighted the importance of OTC for the Brazilian offshore oil and gas segment. "This event is important not only for bringing new investments and business opportunities to Brazil, as it is a very rich space for exchanging experiences and scientific knowledge", he said.
 
The president of the IBP, Roberto Ardenghy, invited president Prates to be the speaker of the Brazilian section at OTC 2023. Ardenghy.
 
At the OTC, Petrobras was awarded four times with the Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, the main award in the world oil and gas industry. In 2021, recognition occurred for the innovations developed to enable the production of Búzios, the largest oil field in deep waters in the world. The other three occasions were in 1992 (innovations developed for the Marlim field, in the Campo Basin), 2001 (solutions for Roncador) and 2015 (set of technologies created for the pre-salt).
 
OTC 2023 will take place between the 1st and 4th of May, in Houston, Texas, with the participation of over a thousand exhibitors, where the most important topics for the oil and gas sector worldwide will be discussed.
