The future of energy will be discussed in Rio de Janeiro from September 21 to 24. ROG.e 2026, the largest energy festival on the planet, will bring together national and international leaders to discuss the main challenges and opportunities on the global energy agenda. There will be more than 600 hours of content focused on the main challenges and opportunities facing the energy industry. Promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), the event consolidates its transformation into a global platform that, for the first time, integrates knowledge, business, networking, innovation, technology, culture and entertainment to connect the industry with society.

Over the course of four days, executives, authorities, experts, investors, academics and young professionals will discuss strategic topics for Brazil and the world, including energy security, the energy transition, natural gas, offshore reserve replacement, downstream, regulatory competitiveness, artificial intelligence, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), the supply chain, decommissioning, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

The program includes different formats, such as Strategic Talks, Special Sessions, ROG.e Dialogues and thematic forums that explore discussions on specific segments of the industry in greater depth. Confirmed highlights include the participation of Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies; Maria João Carioca, CEO of Galp; Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell; Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS; Roberto Monteiro, CEO of Prio; Øivind Tangen, CEO of SBM Offshore; Phillipe Mathieu, Executive Vice President, International Exploration and Production, at Equinor; and Magda Chambriard, President of Petrobras, among other leaders.

The sessions will address central topics for the development of the sector, such as the evolution of production in mature fields, the challenges facing the natural gas market, the modernization of downstream, the role of artificial intelligence across the energy chain, the competitiveness of the Brazilian industry, financing the energy transition, and opportunities related to low-carbon technologies such as CCUS, DACCS and BECCS. Side Events

In addition to the main congress, ROG.e will promote 13 side events aimed at specific audiences. Highlights include Bar do Simas: O Rio que Move, hosted by writer and historian Luiz Antonio Simas, one of the leading scholars of Brazilian popular culture, at the Energia Literária arena, a new feature of this edition. Writer Itamar Vieira Jr. has also confirmed his participation in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum (DE&I).

The Independent Producers Forum will discuss topics such as energy security, independent operators and regulatory modernization. The Supply Chain Forum will focus on challenges facing the supplier chain, including financing, competitiveness, decarbonization and decommissioning. The Young Summit will bring together students and young professionals to discuss the future of the industry, career opportunities and professional development. The iUP Innovation Connections will present the sector’s latest innovations to companies, strengthening the development of innovative solutions for the market.

Energy Run

For the first time, the ROG.e 2026 program will also include the Energy Run, the official race of the energy industry. The race will take place on September 20 at Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, on the eve of the festival’s opening. Open to amateur and experienced runners, the initiative combines sports, well-being and networking among industry professionals and the general public, with expectations of bringing together more than 1,000 participants. ROG.e Fest

The 2026 edition unprecedentedly expands its program of experiences for participants. In addition to networking spaces, brand activations, a Ferris wheel and a literary area, the event will feature ROG.e Fest, bringing artists such as Xande de Pilares, Toni Garrido, Elba Ramalho and Monobloco to the stage. The shows will take place daily from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., expanding the audience’s experience beyond the technical program.

For IBP, this evolution reflects the transformation of the energy industry itself and the need to expand dialogue with different segments of society. “ROG.e 2026 reinforces IBP’s vision that the energy debate needs to be increasingly broad, connected and open to different audiences.
