All stages of the operationalization of the royalty distribution by ANP were completed today (09/29), referring to July 2026 production, for concession, onerous assignment, and production sharing contracts.

The amount transferred directly to the states was R$ 1.72 billion, while municipalities received R$ 2.20 billion. In terms of number of beneficiaries, the transfers were made to 968 municipalities and 11 states.

In addition to these federative entities, from the total calculated by the Agency, portions of royalties were allocated to the Union and the Special Fund, in accordance with current legislation.

The total amount of royalties from July 2026 production under the concession, onerous assignment, and production sharing regimes allocated to municipalities, states, and the Union was R$ 6.50 billion.

ANP's role in the distribution of royalties

ANP is responsible for calculating, determining, and distributing royalties to the beneficiary entities (Union, States, and Municipalities). Royalties are distributed to beneficiaries according to several criteria established in Law No. 7,990/1989 and Decree No. 1/1991 (distribution of the 5% share of royalties); and Law No. 9,478/1997 and Decree No. 2,705/1998 (distribution of the share above 5% of royalties).

The Agency values broad transparency regarding the resources distributed to beneficiary entities, as well as the careful execution of the operational steps inherent to the complex activity of distributing royalties nationwide, to the Union, states, and municipalities, in accordance with the competencies established in current legislation.

There is no established date for the payment of royalty amounts, according to applicable legislation. Even so, ANP is committed to ensuring that revenues from royalties reach beneficiaries in the shortest possible time.
