Yesterday (02/03), the Monthly Bulletin of the Production of Oil and Natural Gas for the month of January 2021 of the ANP came out. Among the highlights of the publication is the 8.2% growth in pre-salt production compared to the previous month, totaling 2,629 MMboe / d (million barrels of oil equivalent per day), with 2,074 MMbbl / d (million barrels) per day) of oil and 88.3 MMm3 / d (million cubic meters per day) of natural gas. In relation to January 2020 there was a reduction of 2%. The production originated in 119 wells and corresponded to 70.5% of the total produced in Brazil.

National production was approximately 2,873 MMbbl / d of oil and 136 MMm3 / d of natural gas, totaling 3,731 MMboe / d (million barrels of oil equivalent per day). In relation to the previous month, there was an increase of 5.4% in oil production and 7.4% in natural gas. In comparison with January 2020, there was a reduction of 9.3% and 1.7%, respectively.

Use of natural gas

In January, the use of natural gas was 97.9%. 61.1 MMm³ / day was made available to the market. The gas flaring in the month was 2.9 MMm³ / d, a reduction of 4.9% compared to the previous month and 28.1% if compared to the same month in 2020.

Origin of production

In this month of January, offshore fields produced 96.9% of oil and 80.8% of natural gas. The fields operated by Petrobras were responsible for 93.3% of the oil and natural gas produced in Brazil.

Highlights

In December, the Tupi field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, registering 920 MMbbl / d of oil and 42.6 MMm3 / d of natural gas.

The Petrobras 77 platform, producing in the Búzios field through four interconnected wells, produced 146.524 Mbbl / d of oil and was the facility with the highest oil production.

The Pole Arara installation, producing in the Arara field, through 32 wells connected to it, produced 7.116 MMm³ / d and was the installation with the highest production of natural gas.

Estreito, in the Potiguar Basin, had the largest number of onshore producing wells: 1,036.

Marlim Sul and Tupi, in the Campos and Santos Basins, respectively, were the offshore fields with the largest number of producing wells: 56.

Marginal accumulation fields

These fields produced 275.3 boe / d, 107.5 bbl / d of oil and 26.7 Mm³ / d of natural gas. The Iraí field, operated by Petroborn, was the largest producer, with 163.6 boe / d.

The average API grade of oil extracted in Brazil was 28.2, with 2.8% of production considered light oil (> = 31 ° API), 91.4% average oil (> = 22 API and <31 API) and 5.8% heavy oil (<22 API).

The mature terrestrial basins (fields / long-term tests in the Espírito Santo, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Sergipe and Alagoas basins) produced 97.3 Mboe / d, 77.4 thousand bbl / d of oil and 3.2 MMm³ / d of natural gas. Of this total, 77,900 boe / d were produced by Petrobras and 19,000 boe / d were produced by concessions not operated by Petrobras, of which: 12,122 boe / d in Rio Grande do Norte, 6,642 boe / d in Bahia, 344 boe / d in Espírito Santo, 218 boe / d in Alagoas and 112 boe / d in Sergipe.
