The non-exercise of Petrobras' preference for two of the three blocks to which it had previously expressed its impact on the outcome of the 6th Production Sharing Bidding Round, held today, 07/11) by the National Petroleum Agency, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), in Rio de Janeiro.

The Aram block, in the central portion of the Santos Basin, was the only bid in the short-term auction by the consortium formed by Petrobras (80%) and CNODC Brasil Petróleo e Gás (20%). It offered a 29.96% oil surplus to the Union, a signing bonus of R $ 5.05 billion and an exploratory investment forecast of R $ 278 million. As in the overrun assignment auction, goodwill was zero.

The other Boomerang, Cruzeiro do Sul and Sudoeste Southwest blocks in the Santos Basin and Norte de Brava in the Campos Basin did not receive any offers, even though Petrobras has expressed a preference for the last two. What would have cooled the interest

With approximately 1,280 km² of area, the Aram block, in 1,800 meters water depth, west of the block BM-S-8 and southwest of the North Carcará and Uirapuru blocks, has similar characteristics to those found in the already producing fields. pre-salt and is sealed by a salt layer up to 3,000 m thick, according to analysis of the seismic data made by Petrobras.
