Several important issues for the development of Sergipe were addressed on the second day of the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

The Sergipe delegation continues to work for the development of the state at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2025, the largest international Oil and Gas fair held in Houston, USA. The team, led by Governor Fábio Mitidieri, held several meetings on Tuesday, the 6th, the second day of the event, discussing key issues for Sergipe, particularly the return of the Fábrica de Fertilizantes Nitrogenados (Fafen) to Sergipe and the Sergipe Águas Profundas (Seap) project, developed in partnership with Petrobras.

During the new meetings with Petrobras, the Sergipe delegation met with the director of Exploration and Production, Sylvia Anjos, and the director of Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, Renata Baruzzi. In addition to the return of Fafen and the development of the Seap project, discussions included the decommissioning process of platforms with the possibility of reactivating some in partnership with private companies, the implementation of a technical course in Oil and Gas in the state, the resumption of the Shallow Waters project, and the tendering of FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units) for the Seap project.

The meetings continued the focus of the first day of the event when the Sergipe Government had already brought key issues to Petrobras, especially related to the Sergipe Águas Profundas project. The goal is to strengthen the partnership and reinforce the state's request for continued investments in Sergipe from the company.

During the agenda in Houston, Governor Fábio Mitidieri also participated in an event hosted by Petrobras and IBP, where he was one of the speakers, along with Roberto Ardenghy from IBP, Petrobras President Magda Chambriard, and the Governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís. On this occasion, Mitidieri celebrated the good news for Sergipe. "We thank the opportunity to be here at this moment, as we are on the verge of, in the coming months, having the tender for the two ships that will begin the exploration of the new gas cycle in Sergipe," he declared.

The Secretary of State for Economic Development and Science and Technology (Sedetec), Valmor Barbosa, summarized the actions of the second day at the event. "We were here today at the OTC, accompanied the governor in the delegation, sat down, and brought up various points on a broad agenda. Petrobras is already aware of this, as they all have letters requesting responses and demanding speed. The governor left very satisfied, the delegation was very well received. Fábio strongly asked Petrobras to return to invest in Sergipe, and more meetings will come to ensure that this remains a priority," he said.

As a result, Sergipe is also positioning itself as a significant player at the Offshore Technology Conference, leveraging its full potential in the oil and gas sector, with prospects to transform the state's economic landscape. "Sergipe has been standing out at the OTC due to its position today in oil and gas, the 'darling' of Brazil. We are pleased with the meetings with important players, especially yesterday and today, discussing matters of relevance to the state. We leave here with the certainty that we will bring very important news to Sergipe, detailing the process of each meeting here. We are making a name for ourselves, and the management is to be congratulated. The Legislative Assembly is a partner of the state, as it is where the projects are forwarded and analyzed by state deputies, and we continue working together on this," he concluded.

Governor Fábio Mitidieri is attending the event along with the delegation consisting of the State Secretaries of Economic Development and Science and Technology, Valmor Barbosa; Social Communication (Secom), Cleon Nascimento; and Social Assistance, Inclusion, and Citizenship (Seasic), Érica Mitidieri.

Also present are the executive secretary of Sedetec, Marcelo Menezes; the president of the Legislative Assembly of Sergipe (Alese), state deputy Jeferson Andrade; and the CEOs of the Companhia de Desenvolvimento Econômico de Sergipe (Codise), Ronaldo Guimarães; the Public Services Regulatory Agency of Sergipe (Agrese), Hamilton Oliveira; and Carmo Energy, Rodrigo Moretto.
