Consortium including Chinese and Eletrobras wins auction.

The Brazilian Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) today (7), on the BM&FBovespa, in São Paulo, auction to hire power transmission service in the states of Pará, Minas Gerais, Tocantins and Goiás. The project will connect the power plant Belo Monte to the Southeast Region.
In the first phase of the auction will bid the single lot (A and B). If there is no proposal, there will be an auction of separate lots. Contracts will only be effected if winner for both lots. The winner is the one submitting the lowest proposed Annual Revenue (RAP) for the service to be received from the commercial operation.
According to Aneel for the single batch, the RAP was R$ 701 million. For lots separate set value was R$ 370.6 million (Lot A) and R$ 327.4 million (lot B). The revenue will be received for a period of 30 years, with possibility of extension at the discretion of the government.
Facilities shall come into operation within 44 months to 46 months after the signing of contracts with the creation of 15,476 direct jobs. The planned investments reach R$ 5 billion.
The consortium IE Belo Monte, formed by companies Furnas Central Electric SA, State Grid Brazil Holding SA and Power Plants of Northern Brazil SA (Eletronorte) won the Transmission Auction No. 11/2013.
With a value of R $ 434,647,038.00 offered, there was a discount of 38% - which seignifica that revenue entrepreneurs to explore investment will be lower than originally planned, contributing to low tariff energy. Facilities shall come into operation within 44-46 months after the signing of contracts with the creation of 15,476 direct jobs. The planned investments are around $ 5 billion.
