Anhydrous and hydrated ethanol prices closed the week of March 3 to 7 lower, according to the Cepea/Esalq Indicator, from USP. The biggest depreciation was seen in hydrated ethanol, used in flex-fuel or ethanol-only vehicles, which declined again after closing higher the previous week.

The price per liter of hydrated ethanol was R$ 2.8406, compared to R$ 2.8524 per liter in the week of February 24 to 28, representing a 0.41% drop.

Anhydrous Ethanol

Meanwhile, anhydrous ethanol, which is blended with gasoline, recorded a 0.20% decrease last week, which was shortened by the Carnival holiday. Ethanol plants sold anhydrous ethanol at R$ 3.2491 per liter, down from R$ 3.2556 the previous week.

Paulínia Daily Indicator

According to the Paulínia Daily Indicator, Friday (March 7) saw a decline in hydrated ethanol prices. The biofuel was sold by ethanol plants at R$ 2,935.00 per cubic meter, compared to R$ 2,939.00 per cubic meter the previous day, reflecting a 0.14% drop in daily comparison.
