The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) informed that it will hold an auction of biodiesel complementary to that which is in progress (L75), after the third stage of the event lasted for five days and continues on Wednesday.
The entire volume made available by producers with the Social Fuel Seal - 1,166,420m3 - has already been sold, but the repurchase process carried out by the distributors for logistical accommodations has been prolonging the duration of the event and raising the average price of the product. Yesterday, the price had already reached R$ 4,625.62 / m³, above the price that caused the auction to be suspended earlier this month.
The stage that accommodates producers without the Social Fuel Seal is also missing.
According to sources, the complementary auction was a way for the ANP to send a message to the distributors that there will be no shortage of products on the market, and probably purchases from now on will be destined to supply in October, since the month of September has already been guaranteed.
"The volume purchased corrected a gap in inventory zeroed, due to the failure of the last inventory auctions. The B10 would correspond to 1,100,000 m³ for supplying the market in September and October", explains the president of the Brazilian Union of Biodiesel and Biokerosene (Ubrabio ), Juan Diego Ferres.
Ubrabio, whose members were responsible for around 42% of the volume offered at L75, also points out that the current auction definitely resolves the impasse of the interruption of the previous auction and the reduction of the mixture from B12 to B10, during the months of September and October .
