Tomorrow, January 14, 2023, the ANP celebrates 25 years of implementation. The Agency was created by Decree No. 2,455, of January 14, 1998, and was already provided for in Law No. 9,478, of August 6, 1997, known as the Petroleum Law.

Over this quarter of a century, the ANP has been working towards the development of the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector in Brazil. There are approximately 137,000 economic agents regulated by the Agency, ranging from gas stations and LPG resellers to large oil companies.

To commemorate this trajectory, the ANP published a special page with texts and infographics on the evolution of the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector in this period, in addition to a video that brings a message from the Director General of the Agency, Rodolfo Saboia.

Over the coming months, activities will be carried out and new content will be published.
