T&B Petroleum/Press Office ANP
The ANP held on Friday, 9/18, a webinar on the renewal of certification for efficient production of biofuels. The criteria defined by the ANP were presented, together with the RenovaBio Technical Group, for the renewal processes of already certified production units. The event was attended by more than 140 participants from biofuel producers, inspector firms and consultants.
According to the deputy superintendent of Biofuels and Product Quality at ANP, Danielle Conde, "the idea today is to build another step in the evolution of RenovaBio. As we move forward, we will detail and improve the whole list of procedures necessary for this program to have each increasingly successful ".
The event took place in the week that RenovaBio reached the mark of 9 million decarbonization credits (CBIOs), which represents 62% of the mandatory target for 2020 established by CNPE Resolution nº 8/2020.
Of the total CBIOs issued, approximately 818 thousand have already been acquired by fuel distributors (part required to meet RenovaBio's individual goals), while 42 thousand CBIOs have been acquired by non-obligatory parties (companies and individuals without a goal).
This week, the first retirement operations of CBIOs were also carried out by fuel distributors. Previously, retirements were made by non-obliged parties. A CBIO can be traded on the market as long as there is no retirement.
Fuel distributors will prove that they have met their individual goals by retiring previously acquired CBIOs.
CNPE Resolution No. 8/2020 defined that the individual goals of fuel distributors will be reduced in the same proportion as the CBIOs retired by non-obliged agents.
