The ANP published today (11/27) the pre-public notice and the draft of the concession contract for the 17th Exploratory Blocks Bidding Round. The round, which had been temporarily suspended in April 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was resumed by the Agency after a decision by the National Energy Policy Council to hold the event in 2021, according to CNPE Resolution No. 7/2020.

The pre-public notice and the draft of the concession contract will remain in public consultation for 60 days, until 01/28/2021, and the public hearing will be held on 02/03/2021 by videoconference. The public bidding session for the 17th Bidding Round is scheduled to take place on 10/7/2021.

The 17th Round will offer 92 blocks in four sedimentary basins (Campos, Pelotas, Potiguar and Santos), with a total area of 53.9 thousand km². Blocks were included that may contain deposits located beyond 200 nautical miles, in the extension of the Brazilian Continental Platform.

Today, the deadline for the payment of the participation fee and for registration in the round also begins, which ends after the publication of the notice, on 08/11/2021. With the presentation of the electronic registration form, payment of the participation fee and compliance with other conditions provided for in the pre-public notice, bidders will be able to access the technical data packages selected by the ANP for the bidding.
