Yesterday (9/15) the ANP Board approved the prior consultation of the Regulatory Impact Analysis (AIR) to review the technical standards for well data. The objective is to carry out an exchange between the oil and natural gas industry and the ANP, providing transparency and isonomy to the Agency's actions.

Recently, the Geological Survey Profile (PAG), Composite Profile (PC) and digital well profiles have been consolidated into a single Resolution. ANP Resolution No. 880/2022 had as its main objective regulatory simplification, and complied with Decree No. 10,139/2019 and ANP Ordinance No. 232/2020.

In addition to the data from PAG, PC and digital profiles, the ANP8 standard will be revised, which deals with the receipt of data related to the Formation Test, which has been available on the ANP website since 2003, requiring revision. The PAG Standard, for example, was published in 2012 and the Composite Profile and digital profiles were published in 2016, therefore subject to society's contribution for updating.

The main point related to the revision of well standards concerns technological development. These processes demand information technology applications, with the intensive use of computing resources, such as software, hardware and other solutions in the field of information management, for greater efficiency and effectiveness of ANP's operations. Considering the constant technological advances, it is possible that the well patterns are out of date.

The institutions that can contribute to this prior consultation are exploration and production companies (operators or partners that are part of the consortium), data acquisition companies and academic institutions with projects related to oil and gas, as well as society in general.
