The ANP participated yesterday (28/9) in the Mesa Reate Amazonas, an event that continued the agenda of the Program for the Revitalization of Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Activities in Onshore Areas (Reate).

Reate's objective is to seek advances in the implementation of a national policy that strengthens the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in onshore areas, in order to stimulate the development of a strong and competitive industry, with growing production and plurality of operators and suppliers of goods and services.

At the event, ANP Director Raphael Moura highlighted the Agency's role as a “catalyst for a strong and competitive industry, with growing production and diversity of operators aimed at the development of local suppliers of goods and services”. In this sense, he highlighted that the Agency has been taking measures to simplify administrative and improve the business environment.

“Revitalizing onshore activities is about untying the knots and working in practice to resolve the relevant issues, such as free access to drainage and primary processing infrastructure, improving data availability and creating synergies between regulators and regulated parties. This is the work of a modern and agile regulatory body”, he said.

Regarding the focus region of this Mesa Reate, Moura informed that the ANP makes available, in the Permanent Offer, 21 blocks in the Amazonas Basin, in addition to another 13 in the Solimões Basin that are only awaiting the approval of the environmental study of the sedimentary area before entering the notice . He also recalled that, in the 2nd Cycle of Permanent Offer, held in December 2020, independent producers purchased areas in the region. “This is what we want: a dynamic, growing market with opportunities for companies and, above all, for people”, he concluded.

Mesa Reate Amazonas also had the participation of ANP superintendents and technicians in thematic panels, which addressed issues related to Reate, such as the natural gas market; government participations; research, development and innovation (RD&I); access to technical data; studies on the Amazon Basin; and ANP's regulatory agenda focused on the subject.

This was the fifth edition of Mesa Reate, which has already had debates on the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Bahia, Espírito Santo and Alagoas. Another meeting is scheduled for this year, in Sergipe.
