Bentec reported Friday that it has won its largest single contract in its 20-year history. Company said the multi-million dollar contract was awarded by Algerian state-owned drilling contractor Enafor and will the German firm deliver seven desert drilling rigs within the next 17 months. This is the second deal that Bentec has achieved within a year with Enafor, which bought four rigs from Bentec in 2013.
All the rigs in the latest order will be fully equipped with Bentec equipment, including top drives, pumps, drawworks, power control rooms and electrical controls. These will be manufactured at Bentec's Bentheim site in northwest Germany. Commenting on the deal in a company statement, Bentec CEO Dirk Schulze said:
"We are extremely proud to have secured our largest deal since the company was established in 1994. We work hard to maintain the highest quality standards across our drilling rig systems and this success is testament to that, the services we provide and our continued commitment to developing additional business in Algeria."
