Brametal, a Brazilian industry with 100% national capital, considered one of the largest in Latin America for the fabrication of metallic structures for power generation and transmission and telecommunications, has joined Araxá Solar, a pioneer company in the segment of solar energy generation, to launch a 100% national solution that will offer expertise in engineering projects for large solar plants and the national supports for photovoltaic panels fixed to the ground in a single project, which can generate up to 1,000 MW / year.

"Brazil has one of the best conditions in the world for generating solar energy, but this is still a very new market. Although it is growing steadily and solidly, there are still few alternatives available. This indicated a path with great potential - this market is around 5 billion reais / year, with 15% of this total represented by the support (base for the creation of a plant). That is why we decided to unite with Araxá Solar to join forces to enter strongly in this segment, since they are always ahead of new projects, "says Ricardo Brandão, Chairman of the Board and founder of Brametal.

For Rodolfo De Souza Pinto, President of Araxá Solar, this partnership will have a great impact on the market by offering large investors a more complete and customized solution to their needs. "For a plant to be built three products are needed, in addition to an engineering analysis: the supports for photovoltaic panels, solar modules and inverters. That is, with the engineering expertise we have added to a 100% national product and developed exclusively for this segment, we can offer customers the best technical solution available at a better cost-benefit, "he reinforces.

100% national product

The new projects of national supports for ground-mounted photovoltaic panels, developed by Brametal, are three: Fixed support mono-post; Fixed bi-pole support; And solar tracker of 01 axis (single axis solar tracker), so that they can be used according to the characteristics of the panels and the place of installation of the park, resulting in lighter structures.

Developed to have a reduced maintenance cost during their useful life, the support is properly registered with FINAME (BNDES), providing customers with an easy way to obtain financing - since the BNDES decision is to prioritize the subsidy from renewable sources, Photovoltaic, "says Ricardo Brandão, founder of Brametal.

The possibility of creating a new product appeared about three years ago, when the Government published a 10-year plan indicating large investments in the area of solar energy. "We realized, then, that we could develop a product with its own technology, which would bring us more benefits and safety," says Brandão. "And since our growth has been very positive in the last 20 years, we decided to seek Araxá Solar's partnership to grow even more. So much so that our expectation is to maintain the same share that we have in the transmission lines, which positions us with one of the biggest players in the market. "

According to data from the 32nd meeting of the National Council of Energy Policy (CNPE) held in June 2016, "solar energy continues to expand depending on the industrial base, reaching between 9 and 11 GW in 2025."

About Brametal

Founded in Brazil in 1975 in the city of Criciúma, in Santa Catarina, by the engineer Ayrton Egídio de Mattos Brandão, Brametal attends the branch of civil construction and built its history and values from the entrepreneurial attitudes of its idealizer and then his son , The engineer Ricardo Minatto Brandão. Currently the company is considered one of the largest factories in Latin America for the manufacture of metal structures for power generation and transmission and telecommunications, with a manufacturing capacity of 90,000 tons / year.
