The tenth edition of Brasil Offshore comes to an end and leaves as a legacy for the industry the feeling of transformation. Transformation because during the four days of the fair, the 600 exhibiting brands and more than 50 thousand visitors were able to witness highly technical and qualified content with the most renowned names in the industry. The business environment has enabled professionals to come in contact with new technologies, products and services to optimize investments.

This edition of Brasil Offshore comes to mark the optimism of the industry, the recovery of the sector and the resumption of positive prospects for the national scenario. Also, to reinforce the importance of the Campos Basin in the maintenance and revitalization of mature fields and the prospection of new applications to the oil and gas productive chain.

"I believe our goal has been achieved. We present the opportunities for resumption for the oil and gas sector and now our focus will be on transformation. Transform to produce. This will be the theme of the next edition of the fair, "says Daniel Pereira, Brazil Offshore Manager.

Business Roundtable

Held by Firjan, National Organization of the Petroleum Industry (ONIP) and SEBRAE, the Business Round in Brasil Offshore exceeded expectations and generated R $ 196 million in business. There were 22 anchor companies with purchase demands that selected more than 300 suppliers to participate in the Round.

"This demonstrates the recovery of the oil and gas market in Brazil and Macaé," said Karine Fragoso, Oil manager, Gas and Naval Firjan and general director of ONIP. In all, 442 business meetings were held.

The objective of the Round was to put suppliers and the main players of the oil and gas market in the same space for negotiation. The proposal is to encourage investment and offer companies the possibility of identifying alternatives for the supply of goods and services in the local market.

The expectations of the organizers of Brazil Offshore have been exceeded. There were more than 110 million businesses from exhibitors, surpassing the estimated R $ 300 million (between Round and Exhibitors) for the next 6 months. Brasil Offshore is one of the largest OPEX events on the world stage.

Natural gas is the bet for the energy market

Discussions about the natural gas sector were one of the key points of this issue. The authorities present made clear the interest in the development of this sector and its potential for national economic strengthening.

"Natural gas reserves in the Campos Basin may be responsible for a new cycle of economic development," said the mayor of Macaé, Aluízio dos Santos Júnior. "Now we are going to discuss gas, and we are prepared to turn gas into electricity. Electric power and gas in the free market, "he said.

The Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, was in line with this speech. "We are together so that the reality of the gas happens here in Rio de Janeiro and the energy is fundamental to validate the growth of the industry of our country," he concluded.

Companies see Brazil Offshore as showcase for the market

Alejandro Donoso, Key Account of Continental, sees a promising future for the coming years. "We are seeing an improvement and I believe it is also due to the support that the government has been showing with positive perspectives for the Brazilian market. For us, it is a pleasure to participate in the fair because it not only discloses our brand but also demonstrates what the offshore market is, "he concludes.

"Brasil Offshore is an extremely important fair for the North Fluminense region, the cradle of the oil and gas sector and where are the main companies that move this gear. The fair brings together the entire ecosystem of the industry, including potential partners for the Port of Açu, which has established itself as the main hub of the country's Oil and Gas sector. The Açu Complex is now a one stop shop that offers business opportunities for a chain of oil and gas goods and services, including product reception, transformation and distribution - as in the case of power generation, "said Antonio Primo Ferreira, O & G Director of Açu Port Operations.

According to the Account Executive for Tiger Rentank , Ralph Rocha, the visibility generated during Offshore Brazil was of great importance. "I've been in the industry for 10 years and I'm attending fairs not only in Macaé, but in Rio de Janeiro and also in the United States. We're always reminded because we're always seen, and that's very important," he said. With an extensive equipment portfolio, the executive believes he has been able to attract attention from the entire chain. "Not only the big players in the market, but also the small ones have been able to see that the company is strengthened and ready for this resumption of business. Macaé remains strong in the sector, not only geographically, but also in the presence of companies that are resuming" , he concluded.

Sector encourages the training of future professionals

An initiative of Brazil Offshore in partnership with TN Petróleo magazine, the event Platform of the Future - a new frontier for professionals and companies is an unprecedented action to promote the interaction between the new professionals with companies of the petroleum sector and to boost the entrance of young people and students in the labor market.

"It was very important to share a bit of what Petrobrás has done to further promote the students' interest. We had young people from the engineering course, which is an area where Petrobras has sought development, as well as other careers such as math, science and technology. It is gratifying to encourage these opportunities in their careers, "said Edelcio Freitas, Petrobras' Social Responsibility Manager, in one of the Platform's panels.

Brasil Offshore believes that the educational incentive to young and novice professionals has a positive impact on the growth of the industry and, therefore, the meeting is important and strategic.
