Thanks to the regularisation of foreign capital, the inflow of dollars exceeded the outflow by US$ 8.792 billion in October. A higher result was only recorded in April 2015, when the net dollar inflow totalled US$ 13.107 billion. These data have been published by the Central Bank on Thursday 3 November.

The financial market dollar inflow totalled US$ 41.933 billion, while the outflow reached US$ 35.729 billion – leaving a US$ 6.204 billion positive balance.

According to this Central Bank paper, the financial path records the inflow of Foreign Direct Investment aimed at the productive sector, in addition to fixed income investments in the stock exchange. This calculation also records profit and dividend flows, as well as credit operations between companies.

Exports

The Central Bank calculations also include the results of trade operations in Brazil. In October, export contracts totalled US$ 13.314 billion, whereas import contracts reached only US$ 10.726 billion. The difference between these two accounts left a positive balance of US$ 2.588 billion.
