Brazil's hydropower reserve energy auction resulted in contracts for 95.4 MW average (MWa) of projects, the Power Trading Chamber (CCEE) said today.
With 30 winners, the tender sold 25,087,147 MWh at an average price of BRL 227.02 per MWh (USD 70.44/EUR 62.75), totalling BRL 1.1 billion.
The auction included for the first time normal sized hydropower plants (HPPs). The facilities should start supplying power on March 1, 2020. All the projects get power purchase agreements (PPA) for 30 years.

The states of Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul will receive the projects with the largest amount of capacity.
