Brazil received more LNG cargoes from the United States than any other country during the third quarter, according to data from S&P Global Platts Analytics.

As of September 30, Brazil had received 32 LNG shipments from the United States during the third quarter, equaling the total for the full year of 2020, according to the consultancy. China and South Korea were in second place among the main cargo destinations in the United States, with 19 shipments each, followed by Japan, with 11.

The numbers mark a significant shift from the same period in 2020, when South Korea was the biggest importer of US LNG shipments in the third quarter, followed by Japan and China. Brazil received only one shipment of North American LNG in the third quarter of last year.
