Brazil reports $391.5 bn investments in 2013

The stock of Brazilian investment abroad reached $391.575 billion in 2013, the Central Bank released Friday (July 25).

The stock of Brazilian investment abroad reached $391.575 billion in 2013, the Central Bank released Friday (July 25). In the previous year, this total was $355.982 billion, and in 2011, it stood at $280.265 billion.

 

These investments were reported by 27,014 individuals and 3,559 businesses. Brazil's direct investment going into the productive sector of the economy totaled $295.382 billion in 2013 compared to $266.252 billion in 2012.

 

Securities and fixed income also reported increases amounting to $25.437 billion in investment, whereas $16.930 billion was invested in shares. In 2012, these numbers were $22.124 billion and $13.367 billion respectively.
