Brazilian companies from more than 20 business sectors are registered to take part in the China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held from 5 to 10 November at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry said.

The Brazilian participation in CIIE is coordinated by a working group led by the Brazilian Association of Exports and Investment Promotion (Apex-Brasil), and which includes the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, as well as private entities such as the National Industry Confederation (CNI) and the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp).

The CIIE is the first international fair organised by the country focused exclusively on imports, with organisers expecting more than 150,000 potential buyers for products of more than 100 countries, distributed over the more than 210,000 square metres of the National Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The Brazilian contingent will have a pavilion coordinated by Apex-Brasil, in addition to a set of stands hired directly by some companies, and according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “ample opportunity for the effective promotion of products and services of Brazil, including to Chinese e-commerce retailers.”

Participation in the CIIE will also be a great opportunity for the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur) to carry out a wide promotion of Brazilian tourist products, and professional visitors to the event will have access to a wide variety of information about tourist attractions, cuisine, culture and other aspects of Brazilian life.
