The EIC
Biomass power generation in Brazil reached 722.6 average megawatts in the first quarter of 2016, marking a year-on-year increase of 10.5% according to the country’s Power Commercialisation Chamber (CCEE).
At the end of March installed biomass capacity stood at 11.5GW across the country. The state of Sao Paulo was the biggest producer, generating 5.2GW.
According to the CCEE there are currently 244 biomass power plants in commercial operation in Brazil.
