The 482MW Coxilha Negra wind project planned for Rio Grande do Sul state, in southern Brazil, has received an installation licence from the Brazilian Institute of Environment.

It will consist of 241 2MW wind turbines and be able to produce enough power to meet the energy needs of approximately 2.8 million of the state’s inhabitants.

The wind farm will compete for a contract in Brazil’s second reserve energy auction scheduled to take place in December this year.
