Brazil's wind generation increases 40% in Sep

Brazil's wind power output increased by 39.7% year-on-year to 6,915 average megawatts (MWa) in September, according to figures released by the Power Trading Chamber (CCEE).

 

Wind power share also went up to 11.1% from 8% in the country's electricity generation mix. The data was published by CCEE in the InfoMercado Semanal, the weekly bulletin for energy generation and consumption.

 

In regards to other renewable sources, solar and biomass also rose in the same period, producing 96 MWa, up from 3 MWa, and 4,457 MWa, up from 4,066 MWa, respectively. Hydropower production, on the other hand, fell down by 10% to 38,144 MWa.

 

Brazil's electricity generation as a whole also presented a small increase in September, going up 1.4% year-on-year with 62,646 MWa delivered to the National Interconnected System (SIN).
