Chinese group Jiangsu Zhengchang Group Co., Ltd. intends to build two industrial units in Palmas, capital of the Brazilian state of Tocantins, one for the production of animal feed and the other a biomass-fired thermal power station, said the vice president of the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce (CCBC).

Chiu Po Cheng, quoted by Brazilian newspaper Gazeta do Povo, said the two units will be built on an area of 50,000 square metres, with the animal feed unit having an installed capacity to produce 10 tonnes per day.

The vice president of the CCBC said that the group has other plans for Brazil, which include construction of silos for grain and other agricultural products and food exports to China.

The Chinese group is present in 105 countries and is recognised worldwide for its performance in the engineering and manufacturing of equipment to process grain, oils, feed, food and fertilizers, among other products.

A representative of the Chinese group, said that the industrial units will start to be built in Palmas, “just as soon as the board of directors approves the investments to be made here.”
