It is the fourth consecutive increase in the indicator this year
The Industrial Entrepreneur Confidence Index (ICEI) grew 1.2 points in August this year, compared to July, reported today (11), the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). As a result, the index was 63.2. This is the fourth consecutive increase in the indicator, which accumulates growth of 9.5 points from May to August.
The index ranges from zero to 100 points. Values above 50 points indicate confidence in the industry sector, and the more above 50 points, the greater and more widespread is the confidence of the business community. The closer to zero, the lower the confidence.
For the survey, 1,477 entrepreneurs were interviewed, of which 580 were small, 558 were medium and 339 were large, from August 2nd to 6th. The result shows that the Expectations Index of entrepreneurs in relation to the economy and the company itself in the next six months has remained positive.
Positive perception
According to the CNI, the Current Conditions Index, one of the components of the industry's confidence index and which shows the perception of conditions over the last six months, points to a more positive perception of the current state of the Brazilian economy and companies.
“The index grew 1.8 points to 57.5 points. The Expectations Index, which was already at a high level, advanced 0.8 point, reaching 66 points”, informed the CNI.
