The Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP) holds O&G TechWeek - a pioneering Brazilian event promoted by the industry focused on technology and trends for the future of the oil and gas sector - at the Museum of Tomorrow. From today (21) until Friday (August 25), will discuss topics such as trends, upstream, downstream, gas and energy and technological society. There will be 28 lectures divided into talk shows, case studies and interactive activities with 70 national and international speakers.

Among them are Jorge Camargo, president of IBP, Hugo Repsold, executive director of corporate affairs at Petrobras, Francesco Fazio, principal consultant at Deloitte / Doblin, Jesus Pacheco, executive VP of technology and innovation at Siemens, Osmond Coelho Jr. , General manager of services and specialized operations at Libra, Segen Estefen, director of technology and innovation at Coppe / UFRJ and Peter Kronstom at the Institute of Futurism in Copenhagen.

Milton Costa Filho, general secretary of IBP, highlights the goals and importance of O&G TechWeek. "Technology and innovation mean the future of our industry, without which we will not be able to exploit and produce the resources available. O&G TechWeek will be a pioneering event to discuss a major issue. "He points out that, according to BNDES, 53% of the R$ 557 billion expected to be invested in Brazilian industry by 2019 will be destined to the oil and gas sector .

Among the major trends for the coming years are issues such as sustainability, democratization, automation and technological development. "The future is now and is being created today. We think that tomorrow will be the same as today and a little more, but it is not. Scenarios change and ideas change, "says Peter Kronstrom.

Innovative ideas

Together with O & G TechWeek, IBP and the Startups Factory - one of the largest European accelerators based in Portugal - launch Ideation Week. With a practical character, the project aims to generate innovative ideas for the oil and gas sector. For five days, participants will have to identify the main challenges of the oil and gas sector and put into practice the most disruptive projects and ideas.

Surprisingly, the program has already received triple the registrations of what the capacity of the event allows, and the subscribers are from more varied areas than usually happens. According to Hector Gusmão, CEO of Startups Brazil Factory, in the midst of the economic crisis, more people are looking for opportunities in entrepreneurship.

Congress River Automation

TechWeek will be held in parallel to the Rio Automation Congress. Aimed at automation and instrumentation professionals, the traditional event brings the motto "Instrumentation and Automation: promoting competitiveness and operational efficiency". Rio Automação takes place on August 22 and 23, at RB1. The programming will address topics such as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, Remote Automation, Entrepreneurship and Cyber Security.
