Aggreko highlighted its expertise in projects for generating electricity from biogas at the South Brazilian Forum on Biogas and Biomethane. Aggreko's Business Development Manager, Sidnei Vital Guimarães (photo), spoke at the event as a specialist in business development strategies in the bioenergy sector, sharing success stories across the country, the result of his experience of more than 15 years in the area.

During the presentation, Guimarães analyzed technological arrangements and highlighted the importance of flexibility in business models for the bioenergy sector, which is constantly evolving and faces unique challenges. According to him, decentralized and dispatchable distributed generation from biogas offers significant advantages for electricity distributors, as it can reduce transmission costs, providing energy with predictability and quality for final consumers. In addition, distributed generation helps to mitigate the effect of intermittence or power outages, also acting as ancillary services, improving the quality of the system.

Biogas has been a great ally in reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. It contributes to the preservation of the environment, in addition to providing a clean and renewable source of energy for various sectors. Furthermore, it can be used to generate income for different communities that exploit this resource. It also allows organic matter to be used sustainably for the production of fertilizers and fertilizers. Therefore, biogas has an extremely significant role in the Brazilian socio-environmental scenario.

“We are always looking for new ways to provide clean, renewable energy to our customers. Thus, Aggreko's participation in the South Brazilian Forum on Biogas and Biomethane reinforces our commitment to supporting the development of these sources in Brazil. experience in the bioenergy sector and look forward to continuing to support our customers' efforts across the country," said Sidnei.

The South Brazilian Biogas and Biomethane Forum is an important event for the bioenergy sector, bringing together companies, investors, researchers, extensionists and academics to discuss trends and business opportunities in the biogas and biomethane production chain. Aggreko is proud to participate in the event and continue to support the development of the bioenergy sector in Brazil and throughout Latin America.
