With an estimated of 53 thousand visitors and R$ 250 million in investments, this year's fair, held until Friday (June 23), at the Convention Center Roberto Marinho, represents a new cycle for the oil market, both for the city of Macaé and the country. With the new rules for the pre-salt exploration sector and the auction schedule for the next three years, the expectation is for the market to recover, with the resumption of job creation.

The event also marks Petrobras' 40th anniversary in the Campos Basin. And it was with this focus that the mayor of Macaé, Dr. Aluizio, welcomed the company at the opening of the event. "Petrobras is a brand that represents all of us. The 2015 fair was the one to overcome, and today it marks the advances of the oil sector. In September we will have the auctions to warm up the oil economy, which not only represents a resumption of the jobs for the sector, but a whole service chain. The state and the city need this recovery for their self-esteem.We also have a jewel that is Cabiúnas, an icon in the generation of oil and gas. The oil industry is fundamental to Brazil and still represents 12% of the national GDP. This is the turn of the turn, the recovery, energy and employment, "said Dr. Aluizio.

The general manager of Petrobras Campos Basin Operations Unit (UO-BC), Marcelo Ferreira Batalha, stated that there will be no interruption of the Port of Imbetiba in Macaé.

- In the logistics area, the six berths of the Port of Imbetiba and four berths contracted in the Açu Port, in São João da Barra, are in operation. Currently, the port activities are being reorganized between the ports of Rio de Janeiro and Imbetiba, in Macaé. This strategy does not affect offshore operations in the Campos Basin and does not mean the interruption of the activities of the Port of Imbetiba. We are completing 40 years of the Campos Basin this year, which is responsible for 64% of the national production. In 2016, the average monthly production of the Campos Basin closed more than 1.37 million barrels of oil and 26 million cubic meters of gas per day. It is from Macaé that the flow, pressure, flow and temperature of the oil and gas produced daily in most of the maritime units are monitored remotely, "pointed out the general manager of the UO-BC who represented the President of Petrobras, Pedro Parente.

The Deputy Secretary of Mines and Energy of the Ministry of Mines Energy, João José de Nora Souto, participated in the opening of Brazil Offshore representing the minister, Fernando Coelho Filho.

It is important to recognize the great relevance of the Campos Basin to the national oil industry, with opportunities generated for the country and the State of Rio de Janeiro and that motivated technological advances for deepwater exploration. In this sense, the Federal Government, and especially the Ministry of Mines and Energy, has been taking measures to promote this important region of the Campos Basin, such as the recent release of Petrobras from being a sole operator in the pre-salt and the realization of the sharing round, Among others - reported.

Antônio Guimarães, executive secretary of the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (IBP), also reminded that there is nothing better than being in the national capital of oil to talk about oil. "Forty percent of the world's oil was discovered in Brazil, and 60 percent of the world's oil at sea was discovered in Brazil. This fair precedes a series of auctions that will happen next. Several issues have succeeded and others are in the process. After five, six years, the government sets an agenda for the next three years. The holding of three auctions represents 10 billion barrels, R$ 80 billion in investments and 500 to 700 thousand jobs, mostly in the region and for Brazil as a whole, "he said.

Also attending the opening were the vice president of Reed Exhibitions Alcântara Machado, Paulo Otávio de Almeida; Municipal secretaries; Mayors of the region; Representatives of Firjan, IBP, Sebrae, Abespetro, among other authorities. Brasil Offshore is open until Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
