Equinor, an international energy company, will participate in ROG.e 2026, one of the leading energy industry events in Latin America, reaffirming its long-term commitment to Brazil, where the company is celebrating 25 years of operations. The event will take place from September 21 to 24 at Riocentro and will feature lectures and appearances by company executives throughout the exhibition.

Over the past two decades, Equinor has built a diversified portfolio comprising oil and gas assets and renewable energy projects. Today, Brazil represents one of the company’s largest international operations outside Norway and occupies a central position in its global growth strategy.

The company has a broad and diversified portfolio that includes the Bacalhau field, one of the largest deepwater discoveries made in Brazil in recent decades; the Raia project, which is expected to have the potential to supply 15% of national natural gas demand when it comes on stream in 2028; and the Serra da Babilônia hybrid complex, one of Equinor’s largest renewable power generation projects in the country, operated by its subsidiary Rio Energy.

“When we arrived in Brazil in 2001, it would have been difficult to imagine the scale of the operation we have built today. Brazil has become one of Equinor’s most strategic markets globally and one of the pillars of our international growth. We remain committed to developing energy safely, efficiently, and responsibly, contributing to Brazil’s economic and energy development,” says Nina Koch (pictured), Equinor’s current president in Brazil, who has been with the company for more than 30 years.

The company also maintains a strategic partnership with Petrobras in the Roncador field. One of the partnership’s objectives is to apply Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) solutions, an area in which Equinor is a leading reference in Norway.

Immersive Experience

The celebration of Equinor’s 25th anniversary will be the central theme of the company’s participation as a Connect Sponsor at this year’s edition. Equinor will have a 250-square-meter booth where it will showcase its journey in Brazil through interactive experiences and multimedia content about its projects.

Attractions will include Equinor Play, featuring videos about the company’s portfolio and its 25th-anniversary campaign; an augmented reality experience and a model of the Bacalhau FPSO; an installation simulating the pipeline for the Raia project; a 3D printer; an interactive quiz; and a puzzle featuring initiatives supported by the company.

Visitors will also be able to learn about the main milestones of Equinor’s journey through a timeline highlighting significant moments in its history in Brazil, including the acquisition of Rio Energy, the start-up of the Serra da Babilônia complex, and progress on the Raia project.

Knowledge Exchange

Throughout the four-day event, Equinor will host a program of presentations at its booth addressing topics related to organizational culture, renewable energy, and the company’s main projects.

The program will include presentations on Bacalhau, Raia, Serra da Babilônia, skills development for the future, technologies applied to offshore operations, and research and innovation initiatives, reinforcing the company’s role in the advancement of the energy industry.

Equinor’s participation in ROG.e 2026 underscores the importance of Brazil to the company and its commitment to the country’s energy development. In addition to presenting its projects and sharing technical knowledge, the event will provide an opportunity to strengthen relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, authorities, and energy-sector professionals.
