This Friday, July 1st, Evolua Etanol is born, the result of the union of two large Brazilian companies: Vibra Energia and Copersucar S.A. With a 100% national business model and technology, it emerges with the purpose of enabling solutions, integrating, bringing scale and efficiency to the market, shortening the distances between ethanol producers and consumers across the country. Taking innovation from the field to the wheel is the challenge of the new company, which is born a market leader.

Evolua Etanol will act as an open, fluid, value-generating platform with scale to serve the national and global markets, with the objective of selling 9 billion liters of ethanol in its first year of life. The trader defines a new and important milestone for the consumer and for the biofuels sector, leveraging strategic alliances and partnerships, providing technologies, market intelligence and providing operational efficiencies.

“We hope to offer a modern and competitive commercialization alternative for all agents in the ethanol market, with an offer in scale and logistical efficiency”, comments Pedro Paranhos, CEO of Evolua Etanol. The executive shows optimism, as “ethanol has characteristics that place it as one of the great protagonists to meet the needs of a changing world, which seeks cleaner and renewable energy sources. And precisely this panorama opens up a range of possibilities for our company, which will act in a collaborative and integrated way, to generate solutions that add shared value to the entire chain”.

Paranhos, responsible for running the new company, has more than two decades of experience in the fuel sector, having worked at American companies Exxon Mobil and Eco-Energy. At Copersucar for 15 years, he had previously served as the company's Commercial and Operations Director.

“This union is an important step in the execution of Copersucar’s strategy”, thus Tomás Caetano Manzano, president of Copersucar S.A., defined the birth of Evolua Etanol. With guidelines and business design conceived as a platform, Manzano reinforces that “growing through partnerships and innovative solutions is in our company's DNA. We are convinced of the fundamental role of biofuels in building a low carbon economy and this new open business platform in partnership with Vibra will take us to a new level”.

"With this partnership, Vibra and Copersucar, through Evolua Etanol, expand their scale of operations in one of the largest ethanol markets in the world, providing access to this marketing platform to all interested players. in an optimized and reliable way, generating competitiveness for the sector and with logistical gains, which in turn will bring positive impacts to the final consumer. This is yet another demonstration of Vibra's commitment to seeking businesses focused on the transition towards cleaner energy sources. and renewables and in the decarbonization of our operations", says Wilson Ferreira Jr, CEO of Vibra Energia.

Headquartered in São Paulo and with an office in Rio de Janeiro, Evolua Etanol will operate with independent management aligned with its shareholders, in addition to having its own governance structure and board, following the best governance and compliance practices. The capital stock is R$ 10 million, of which Copersucar S/A holds a 50.01% interest and Vibra Energia has a 49.99% interest, and there is already a forecast of a future contribution of another R$ 440 million, in proportion of the respective shares of the shareholders.

Brand creation

The name of the new company came from the concept of three words: integrate, move and transform. Evolua Etanol is a proud brand for taking 100% proprietary technology across the country, combining operational efficiency, innovation and market intelligence to connect the entire supply chain and supply high-quality biofuel, creating and delivering value-added solutions to society. It is a new player, a new business model, the size of the current challenges, with scale to meet different needs, reach everywhere and open new paths.
