The Minister of Mines and Energy, Fernando Coelho Filho, received on Monday (09/01) the Minister of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, in his office in Brasilia. At the meeting, representatives from Brazil and Nigeria presented the investment opportunities in the two countries and discussed the direction of the oil and gas sector. After visiting Brazil Emmanuel Kachikwu goes to Argentina.

 

The Nigerian invited Coelho Filho to visit his country to learn about the oil activity in the African country. The Brazilian minister waved open the agenda in April to visit Nigeria.

 

The two countries are expanding their production of oil and gas. Fernando Coelho Filho said that this year will be held three rounds of oil and gas auction in Brazil. "We want Brazil to stand out in the international scenario of oil and gas in 2017," Coelho Filho told his counterpart and the Nigerian delegation.

 

Minister Fernando Coelho Filho has participated in several meetings and international events of the oil and gas sector, with the resumption of the relevance of Brazil in the international scenario. Since May 2016, Fernando Coelho Filho has been attending events and meetings with industry officials in New York, London, Tokyo, Madrid, Tehran and New Delhi. In this and in the coming months, the minister will go to Davos (Switzerland), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Toronto (Canada) and Houston (United States) to present investment opportunities in Oil and Gas in Brazil.
