The 16th Exploratory Blocks Bidding Round, under the concession regime, held this Thursday (10/10), by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), reinforced the disposition of the Brazilian government with compliance with the regular auction calendar. The consistency of auctions is a key factor for Brazil to ensure its attractiveness on the world stage. It is from the closing of the areas that the industry can start its investment planning.

For Firjan, the results were an absolute success for the state of Rio. Of the 12 blocks sold, 11 were in Rio de Janeiro waters. Round 16 had a new record in signing bonus of concession rounds, with the amount raised of R $ 8.9 billion and average premium of 390%. In expected investments, the amount exceeded R $ 1.5 billion.

The auction takes place exactly one month after the 1st Permanent Bid Cycle and marks three consecutive years of areas being offered to companies, which must make a careful analysis of the opportunities, since the Rounds are also scheduled for early November. Pre-Salt Production and Assignment Surplus Sharing Shares.

For the market, the auction reflexes happen first in the exploration phase, with opportunities focused on the geophysical data collection and processing activities; drilling, profiling, cementing and well completion; seismic studies; and chartering and operation of special vessels (rigs and maritime support).

As the development and production phase progresses, there is an increase in investment potential, generating more demand for the goods and services industry, as well as raising government stakes, and creating new jobs and income for society. The Brazilian market continues to consolidate with the increasingly relevant participation of operators of different categories, with different purposes and portfolios.
