A year and a half after launching its Social and Environmental Responsibility Program, Foresea has just been awarded the Social Seal, a recognition granted to organizations with impactful, measurable initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The certification, awarded by the Instituto Selo Social, requires a rigorous diagnostic process, verified results, and independent curation to validate each initiative.

Foresea received the certification for its achievements in the social-environmental field, as well as its Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DI&E) Program, which has also been recognized and awarded by the UN. The company is the first in the state of Rio de Janeiro to earn the Social Seal.

The achievement of the Social Seal validates the progress of Foresea Socioambiental, a structural program launched by the company in 2024, aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda to foster social transformation in the regions where it operates. Focusing on Comprehensive Education and the Green Economy, the initiative has already shown concrete results in the city of Macaé (RJ).

“This certification celebrates our commitment to ensuring the Foresea Socioambiental Program creates real value for the people and communities we serve. Our strategy is increasingly connected to a legacy of positive and sustainable impact,” says Marco Aurélio Fonseca, Foresea’s Vice President of Sustainability.

Tangible results in comprehensive education and the green economy

In the Comprehensive Education area, Foresea develops—in partnership with the Macaé Department of Education—initiatives to train school administrators with leadership skills and a focus on management competencies. The initiative has already reached 30 neighborhoods, trained 1,907 teachers, and indirectly impacted 13,600 students in the municipal education network.

The Green Economy initiatives focus on recycling efforts, supporting the MacaEco cooperative, with the goal of professionalizing waste pickers and improving waste management—enhancing collection, increasing income through recyclable sales, and promoting social inclusion.

In just over a year, the program has driven significant change in the local recycling chain. Between January and June 2025 alone, 106 tons of waste were collected—six times more than in the entire year of 2024.

Foresea’s contributions – including donations of equipment, training sessions, and the promotion of local partnerships – directly increased the cooperative members’ income, from an average of R$200/month to approximately one minimum wage per month.
