During the Annual Meeting of the Chemical Industry (ENAIQ), held last Friday (08/12), the Minister of Mines and Energy, Fernando Coelho Filho, said that the country is experiencing a favorable time for debate and advances in the oil and gas. "Brazil has come out of a gas shortage and may soon become one of the world's great production players."
The minister acknowledged that there is a lawsuit in the market for the gas to be treated as raw material and that there is great expectation with the approval of Gas to Grow in Congress. "We are in the final stretch in the Mines and Energy Commission, in the discussion of the substitute for the Gas to Grow project. I hope we can celebrate this victory in early 2018, "he said. Coelho Filho took the opportunity to thank the participation of the agents in the thematic subcommittees.
Coelho Filho also highlighted in his speech the objectives of the Combustível Brasil program, which seeks an offer compatible with the growth of demand, in adequate conditions of price and quality, in an objective regulatory environment favorable to investments. "Today we have a refining deficit of 580,000 barrels per day, with demand increasing. This initiative, together with the economic recovery, confirms that we are doing, we need a transformation in the country. "
Also underway at the Congress, the minister said that RenovaBio gives new courage to keep Brazil in the lead on the issue of biofuel production and technology.
"We are going to make a significant step forward so that Brazil can actually enter into leadership, competitiveness. The future of oil and gas in Brazil is already and will be even more promising with the quality of the geology we have. Now it's up to us to build a better country, he said.
