During a ceremony in the Equinor office in Rio de Janeiro on November 26th, Equinor and the Brazilian company GranEnergia signed a contract for the Offshore Accommodation Services for the Peregrino II Project Offshore Brazil. The agreement is for a period of 6 months, with options for extensions.

During the ceremony Miguel Gradin, CEO of GranEnergia, expressed satisfaction with the contract and reinforced commitment to the project. Gradin said GranEnergia feels honored to serve Equinor, a world-class operator, and that the contract further strengthens the relationship between Norway and Brazil.

Peregrino is Equinor’s largest operated producing offshore field outside Norway and has a production capacity of 100,000bpd. The Peregrino oil field is located approximately 85km offshore Brazil, in the Campos basin, in water depths of 100m. The Peregrino Phase II involves the addition of a third fixed wellhead platform to the field, extending its productive life and adding 273 million barrels in recoverable reserves.

Olympia, GranEnergia’s compact semisub (CSS) accommodation vessel, has operated for Petrobras in Brazil for 4,5 years with outstanding uptime and HSE performance. During this period, the vessel has reached no lost time incident (LTI), great versatility connecting to semisubs, FPSOs and fixed production platforms and low fuel consumption reducing co2 emission. Venus, GranEnergia’s new CSS, has operated for Total in West Africa with the same outstanding uptime and HSE performance.

The commencement of the contract is anticipated to be December 2019/early 2020. The contracts values remain confidential between the parties.
