Iberdrola choses Gamesa for Brazilian trio

Gamesa has won the contract to supply the turbines for three of Iberdrola and Neoenergia's wind projects in Brazil with a combined capacity of 84MW.

Gamesa has won the contract to supply the turbines for three of Iberdrola and Neoenergia's wind projects in Brazil with a combined capacity of 84MW.

 

Gamesa will install 42 G114-2.0 turbines on the developments in the Rio Grande do Norte state in the north east of the country.

 

The Calnago 6 facility will feature 15 of the 2MW turbines, Santana 1 will also be made up of 15 turbines, while the Santana 2 project will have 12 turbines.

 

The machines will be made at Gamesa's factory in Camacari in Brazil. They are due for delivery in the third quarter of 2016, with the projects all set to be commissioned before the end of that year.

 

Iberdrola and Neoenergia has formed the Força Eólica do Brasil (FEB) joint venture to develop these projects among others. Gamesa has won contracts FEB to supply turbines with a capacity of 375MW in Brazil.
