The expansion of 0.4 % of the country's industrial production from January to February this year reflects positive results in seven of the 14 areas surveyed by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics ( IBGE ) . The data are part of the Monthly Industrial Survey / Regional Physical Production ( PIM / Regional PF ) that the Institute is releasing today ( 8 ) . The figures indicate that the increase in the pace of national industrial production from January to February, seasonally adjusted , was highlighted by the double-digit expansion marked by Paraná ( 18.4 % ) and 4.7% growth observed in Amazon.
While Amazon in the growth of the industry recorded the second consecutive month , and spent accumulating in January and February increased 7.7 % ; Paraná eliminated losses the result of 15.9 % recorded between November 2013 and January 2014.
Still in comparison to monthly seasonally adjusted data indicate that in Rio de Janeiro growth of industrial production from January to February was 1.0 % ; Goiás ( 0.8 % ) ; São Paulo ( 0.7 % ) ; in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina ( 0.5 % ), all above the monthly average of 0.4 % results .
In Pará the change was nil ; while the other six states or regions surveyed rate was negative . The Holy Spirit , which was the largest decline , falling -4.3 % reached after industrial production have advanced the state 2.2% in the previous month ; followed by Pernambuco where the drop was less 3.9% , after four consecutive months of positive results . Were the two states that registered the most significant declines from January to February .
As a whole , the Northeast accused fall in industrial production of 1.7% in February ; Ceara ( - 1.6 % ) ; Minas Gerais ( -1.6 % ) and Ontario ( -1.2 % ) .
