The Industrial Indicators, a survey by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), show that sales declined and industrial activity decelerated in November compared to October 2020. This was the first decline after six consecutive months of growth. The data does not yet speak of stagnation or that the growth cycle has ended.

In the same comparison, hours worked in production increased by 0.8%, a percentage below what occurred in October (1.8%) and September (3.1%). And employment in the industry grew for the fourth consecutive month by 0.4% in November compared to October.

However, in the accumulated result of the 11 months of last year, the number of workers in the industry decreased by 2.2%. The wage bill remains stable and the average income fell 0.9% in November compared to October.

The indicator also shows that the Installed Capacity Utilization (UCI) decreased, in November 2020, 0.2 percentage points, in comparison with October. Even so, the 79.9% UCI is above the percentage recorded in November 2019 (78.3%).
