As a result of the investment and diversification policy of the economic matrix implemented by the State Government, through Semagro (Secretariat for the Environment, Economic Development, Production and Family Agriculture), Mato Grosso do Sul begins the procedures to receive its first ethanol industry of corn. The project, unprecedented in the State, will be installed at the Industrial and Business Center in Jaraguari.
The consultation letter with request for tax incentive for installation of the project was presented by the company Destilaria Pioneira Indústria de Ethanol de Maize, Fábrica de Ração e Transportes Ltda to Semagro, and is expected to invest R $ 49 million.
The unit should generate 150 direct jobs and start operations with production of up to 200 thousand liters of corn ethanol per day, in mid 2020. In addition to fuel, the unit must also manufacture corn oil, animal feed and have its own production of renewable energy, from biogas and photovoltaic plates for solar energy.
Head of Semagro, secretary Jaime Verruck points out that the venture is important because it represents investment in a new segment in the state, and for adding value to an important raw material for the state economy, which is corn. The investment in Jaraguari is also the result of action by the State Government, which is making the construction of the municipal Industrial and Business Center viable.
"We acquired an area of almost 100 hectares to attract companies to the municipality and thus generate employment and development for the region. This is the logic of development of the State Government for all municipalities and this enterprise is the consolidation of this work", recalled the secretary Jaime Verruck.
