New plenary speakers have been announced for LNG2019, the world’s largest LNG event which this year is being held in China for the first time. Alongside previously announced headline speakers, including Darren W. Woods, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation, Ben van Beurden, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Gazprom’s Alexey Miller and Qatar Petroleum’s H.E. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, LNG2019’s organisers are delighted to confirm Bob Dudley, Group Chief Executive of energy giant BP plc, Matt Schatzman, President & CEO of NextDecade Corporation, which is developing the Rio Grande LNG export project, and Marcelino Oreja of Spanish energy company Enagás SA.

LNG2019 is the only event where the industry will be able to see the heads of the big three Chinese energy giants on stage together in 2019, making this a must-attend event given that China is now the world’s fastest growing LNG market. The confirmed speakers are Hua Yang, Chairman of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Yilin Wang, Chairman of CNPC, and Houliang Dai, Chairman of Sinopec. Other confirmed speakers from China include Yalan Li, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at Beijing Gas Group, Dinan Huang, Chairman of Shenergy Group, Guobiao Ye, Chairman of Shanghai Petroleum Gas Exchange (SHPGX) and Alfred Chan, Managing Director of The Hong Kong & China Gas Company Limited (Towngas).

New sponsors have also been announced, including BP, Qatargas, Chiyoda and NextDecade and the organisers have added a new Spotlight Session to the four-day programme. The not-to-be-missed Spotlight Session will explore the challenges and opportunities of the new LNG landscape with confirmed speakers Peter P. Clarke of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing and David Knipe, Head of International Gas at BP, discussing the outlook for global supply and demand, the impact of oil prices and LNG contract strategies and China’s influence on the world’s energy map.

“This is shaping up to be the biggest and best event yet,” said Rodney Cox, Events Director at the International Gas Union (IGU), one of the owners of LNG2019. “With major LNG projects set to reach FID in the coming months and demand for this cleaner burning fuel on the rise, LNG2019 will be essential for anyone keen to learn more about the trends, events, technologies and regulations that will shape the future of this industry, and, indeed, our world.”

As well as LNG developers, buyers and policy-makers, LNG2019 is well supported by the contractors that marshal the technology and engineering know-how to support this fast-growing industry.

“We are particularly looking forward to discussions about the new solutions that will bring down project cost, improve safety and energy efficiency and secure and improve schedule,” says Philip Hagyard, Group Vice President, Gas Monetization at TechnipFMC, who will be moderating a Plenary Session on downstream LNG infrastructure at LNG2019.

It promises to be another busy year for TechnipFMC, which last year completed the second and third train of Yamal LNG ahead of schedule and cut first steel on South Coral FLNG, which is destined for ENI’s deepwater gas fields off the coast of Mozambique. The company differentiates itself by taking new approaches to project execution, including modularisation and FLNG. Philip Hagyard’s colleague, Dominique Gadelle, Vice-President, Gas Monetization, TechnipFMC, is set to share his expertise on FLNG at LNG2019 alongside panellists from Petronas and Shell.

In all, LNG2019 will see more than 250 international speakers take to the stage over four days. The event, which has been formally approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China and is supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, will attract thousands of LNG professionals from all over the world.

The full Conference Programme is now available on LNG2019’s website, featuring almost 50 Plenary Speakers, including the CEOs of the world’s major LNG players, plus over 200 speakers in the Technical, Commercial, Spotlight and LNG Forum Sessions. The Research & Innovation Showcase will also feature authors presenting their findings during an interactive showcase, with posters being displayed throughout the week. In addition to the conference, the 40,000m2 exhibition will host more than 250 international exhibitors from 80 countries covering the entire spectrum of the LNG industry, including specialist pavilions such as the Marine Technology Pavilion.

Delegate registration for the world’s largest event dedicated to LNG is now open – find out more at www.lng2019.com/registration
