The positive analysis of the National Council of Finance Policy (Confaz) on the proposal for a tax reduction on aviation kerosene in the State of Rio de Janeiro, opens a new route for the definitive return of Macaé to the national route of commercial aviation.
Aimed by ACIM, in defending the strengthening of air operations in the city, as a stimulus to important sectors of the local economy, the reduction of 12% to 7% of the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on aviation kerosene, passes to be the necessary measure to contribute also to the new phase of development of the State.
"We are working on this agenda when we realize that the state of São Paulo has moved ahead in finding a way to revive the airline sector. Commercial flights are important to stimulate not only the oil market, but other economic aspects of Macaé such as tourism. This decision contributes directly to the changes that our Airport is currently experiencing, "says Francisco Navega, president of ACIM.
Immediately after Confaz's statement on the tax reduction proposal, Navega placed ACIM, and other business institutions that make up the Repensar Macaé, the work already done by Congressman Welberth Rezende (PPS) in defense of the agenda.
"We need Alerj to work together with the state government to make this tax reduction a reality." "We are living today the transition process in the management of Macaé Airport, and the return of commercial flights in Macaé also depends on this measure, , warns Francisco Navega.
